Why is Chicago author-date listing author first names in inline citation?

Hi, Has anyone else had the issue that Chicago author-date will put the author's first name in the inline citation, whereas it should just say (Anderson 2011)?

Could anyone help me fix this? I'm running Word for Mac 2011.

Check your references into Zotero: it could be that the first names have not been entered consistently.
E.g: one item with "Anderson, Peter"; another "Anderson, P"

The first names were entered separately from the last name, in the separate box. I've played around with putting the whole name in the last name box but it doesn't solve the problem.

Do you cite this author (or a homonym) only once?

some of the citations appear more than once in the report. the problem happens across the board.
