Bibliography won't apply italics in existing document

Happy Monday everyone,
I'm using Zotero with Firefox and MSWord 2010, though I recently switched over from LibreOffice. The document I'm working on was originally composed in LibreOffice but successfully converted to MSW about a month ago, albeit with some coniderable reformatting.
Oddly, my bibliography in the MSW document doesn't give book and journal titles are in italics(though they ought to be in the style I'm using: "France, tous les auteurs (auter-date)". In my LibreOffice versions, they appear in italics, and if I open a new MSW document and create a random test bibliography they appear in italics as well.
Furthermore, if I convert the bibliography in to some other styles (just to see what happens) the titles do appear in italics, but upon changing them back to my chosen style the same problem persists.

Is there a way to fix this? Is this likely a citation style problem or a LibreOffice -> MSW problem?

how do you change them back? Really change the style again, or using some kind of "undo"-function?

Whats about deleting the bibliography and create a new one?

Hi,
I change the style by clicking the 'Set doc prefs button', the one with the little gear symbol. Am I mistaken, or can we change the style back and forth as many times as we like with this function?
I just tried your suggestion to delete and recreate the bibliography, and I have the same result: book and title journals are appearing without italics, though the style defines that they should be italicized.
Still scratching my head over here. Any other ideas?

Did you edit your citations manually?

actually I don't have msword, so I can't try. But whats about some stylepreferences of msword. In libreoffice the cls-style overwrite the styles from libreoffice, so I guess, it's the same in msword, but maybe you have an eye on this...

Ah, that did it. My first entry was a book with a very long title. Once I put something from the AAA with a shorter title, all of the titles became italicized.
