Upgrade StorageShow item status in address bar icon
It happens to me time and again that I click the address bar icon to add a paper that is in fact already in my library, resulting in an annoying duplicate. I think it would be really helpful if the address bar icon could show when the item in question is already saved.

for a (still somewhat experimental) Firefox (and FF only) plugin that adds a preflight duplicate check. The thread also explains some of the difficulties of implementing this across the board, though it's generally still planned.
This is always going to be on import, though, never on displaying the URL bar icon - in order to not slow down your browser, Zotero does not run much code - and certainly not enough to detect duplicates - when displaying the URL bar icon.
