Self-defined format for generating report

When generating report using the right click menu "generate report from seleced items (should be this meaning, due to translation from Chinese menu)", the output is somewhat massive. I don't want all these information. I just want a concise output. Due to different requirements for different people, there should be a tool to customize self-defined format for the report.

    I've always wanted to add this, but it's not a development priority. We'd be happy for someone to work on it. The report code hasn't been touched in years (and could be greatly improved).

    There are a lot of different ways this could be done, though, so it'd probably be helpful if you shared specific things you'd like to be able to customize.
