Edinburgh University Press -- no automatic PDF attachment

The metadata is downloading fine from euppublishing, but no attachment. This might be due to their "PDF plus" format. In any case, e.g.: http://www.euppublishing.com/doi/abs/10.3366/jqs.2012.0043
  • see 6. here:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues
there is no translator for that site.
  • Thank you, adamsmith, for that clarification. Indeed, when hovering over the translator, only "DOI" shows. Is this the proper place to make a request for an euppublishing translator, then?
  • this is enough for a request - I'll see when I can get to it, it might take a while.
  • The translator is now up. Your version of Zotero will automatically update within 24hs, or you can update manually using the "Update Now" button in the "General" tab of the Zotero preferences.

    Any problems let us know.
  • Many thanks for this. The translator now does indeed now show as "Edinburgh University Press Journals". However, no PDFs are downloaded as attachment, in my few trials.
  • I have a feeling that adamsmith does not have access to the PDFs (and neither do I). When you go to the link in your first post, and click on the PDF link, does the PDF show up in the whole window or is there other content on the page?

If the PDF is not covering the entire window:
    1. In Chrome, click on the Chrome Menu button, go to Tools -> View Source
In Firefox, click on the Firefox Menu button, go to Web Developer -> Page Source

    2. Copy the page source and paste it on a website like http://pastebin.com/ or https://gist.github.com/

    3. Post the link to the source here

  • @aurimas - here's a free issue:
    http://www.euppublishing.com/toc/arch/20/1
I'll have a look, will ask for help if I don't get anywhere

@talazem - for the time being you can ignore aurimas's request.
  • The translator should now work to download PDFs (provided you have access to them). Your version of Zotero will automatically update within 24hs, or you can update manually using the "Update Now" button in the "General" tab of the Zotero preferences.

    Any problems let us know.
  • Yes, it did indeed work correctly now. Many thanks for this!
