Drag PDF link from browser URL bar results in website entry

Hi,

I frequently add pdf files by dragging the URL icon from the Firefox (16.0.2) URL bar into the Zotero (3.0.8) window. Sometimes that results in a pdf being added to Zotero. However, often, it results in a "Web Page" entry being created with the title "filename.pdf (application/pdf Object)". The pdf itself is not attached.

How, short of saving the pdf to the desktop and dragging it back into Zotero, can I add a pdf like this?

    I can't replicate that problem on the page you link to (maybe if the PDF isn't fully loaded? or maybe it's a problem of the plugin you're using?)
    The alternative for doing this in Zotero for Firefox is clicking the "Create New Item from Current Page" button in the Zotero toolbar with the PDF open.

    Same result if I do that. Will test what might cause it. Maybe an extension.

    Well it's not an extension. But possibly the Adobe PDF plugin---I'm using version 10.0.0.396 (and can't update, as in a corporate environment). Thanks

    (FWIW, it works for me with [edit] pdf.js plugin, win7)
