Dragging items from My Library to Collections

Hi all, newbie here,

I'm having trouble dragging things from My Library into my collections. One or two items work ok, but if I highlight a stack of references (30+) it just doesn't do anything.

I had this trouble copying things from My Library to an online group library. I figured it was to do with the size/#refs or something.

But I'd really like it to work now. Any suggestions?

This is unrelated to the number of items. As far as I know, if you are dragging an item that already exist in the destination, the dragging will be canceled.

As long as there's one item that's not in the destination, the drag should work.

But note that you currently can't drag if you have a child item selected. Read this for more info: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/21083/fails-dragging-multiple-items-to-a-collection/#Item_11

Thanks Dan, the "-" helped - seems I had child elements opened.

But, I still can't drag my entire Library into our group library. I'm probably asking too much - over 700 references at a time.

It looks like it's going to work, but then I get an error pop up window:
"

Cancel or wait - wait just brings the message up again in a while and then crashes Zotero.

Is there a specific number of items that it can handle?

Is there a better way to start a new large group library?
