One subcollection in multiple collections?

So, I find it really useful to be able to store one item under multiple collections; I was wondering if there's a way that could be extended to subcollections as well (so that the same subcollection can be in multiple collections)?

    It sounds like you're trying to accomplish something with collections that is better done with tags. Why not use a tag that binds together all the items that you want to have in this "same subcollection" across multiple collections?
