some German libraries' online catalogue support for zotero

I have just noticed this: A few libraries in Germany have recently added support for Zotero to their online catalgues, including
Bayerische Staatsbibliothek: http://www.bsb-muenchen.de/OPACplus.92.0.html
Humboldt Universität Berlin: http://opac.hu-berlin.de
Freie Universität Berlin: http://www.opac.fu-berlin.de/

However, the latter two seem to have some problems still: The first word of the title gets some extra characters/brackets and the author's first name gets a longer number added. With FU Berlin only the list-icon shows up when viewing the details of a single title. Is this something I should contact the libraries about or is this for the Zotero developers to sort out?

I have heard from other libraries (Staatsbibliothek Berlin and Universität Leipzig) that they will offer Zotero support in the near future.
  • Hallo,

Which translators you 've installed? I can't grab any information from the "Bayrische Staatsbibliothek"?

    Thanks!

    g.s.
  • I didn't install any extra translators, just what came with the standard version of Zotero. However, it works only if you view individual titles in OPAC, not with electronic journals because of proxy issues...
  • Strange. I installed Zotero new and it works.
  • And it works without any problems? Which journals/publishers are you accessing?
I do get the import icon (sometimes), but the import either doesn't work at all (e.g. Springerlink) or quite imperfectly (e.g. sagejournals saves articles as webpages and leaves out many detaiils like, for instance, the author etc...)
Both work fine if I import the details directly from the publisher site without going through the library.
I'm not sure if BSB is aware of this and working on it...
  • @ g.s.: maybe I should have also said that I'm accessing BSB only externally.

I have contacted BSB and they seem quite open to adapting to Zotero. But maybe other BSB-users can contact them as well to show them that there is a demand.
