Does not recognize an open firefox

I'm working with ubuntu 12.10 as OS running Firefox 16.0.1. (Zotero 3.0.8) and LibreOffice 3.6. (Zotero 3.5.3) When I push on the button "Insert Citation", I get the following error message "An error occured communicating with Zotero. Please ensure Firefox is open and try again.", but Firefox is running.

try reinstalling word processor components from the "Cite" tab of the Zotero preferences. Also make sure you have a java version selected for LO as described here:
