"SyntaxError: invalid XML tag syntax" - document won't update

Hello,

I'm using Zotero on a Mac (with OpenOffice) and on a pc (with Word),
and as of this Monday I get this error message anytime I try adding a new reference from my Zotero library (the sync is now working correctly and the references are shown in the library). This happens both with
the Mac-OpenOffice setup and the PC-Word setup.

As the paper needs to be sent to my PhD supervisor asap, I'd greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks,

  • which citation style? have you tried switching to a different style?
Can you confirm that adding citations to a new document still works?

Please also provide an error report ID:

  • The error report is: 129740870

This is confusing. Using my pc-Word setup, I get the same error message clicking any button on the Zotero plugin. Going to the Mozilla Zotero window, under Tools-Preferences-Cite-Word Processor plugins, it says the Word plugin is not installed. I click 'install', it says installation was successful, re-start Word, and get the same problem again. I'd think it was just the plugin, but the same problem happens with my Mac-Openoffice setup at home.
  • and that's also the case in a new document?
  • Actually, no. When I copy and paste the entire text into a new document, the new citations work, but the bibliography doesn't add the new citations like it should.
