Unknown files appeared in my Zotero library after syncing
Hi, I just synced my library for the first time in a while.
Afterwards, a load of chinese language titled papers appeared in my library. I switched between my sub collections and now I can no longer find the files anywhere in my library. Everything seems to be back to normal.
Has this kind of behaviour been observed before? Is there a risk that these are carrying viruses?
Thanks,
Charlie

We've never seen this before, but it's possible there was just a temporary character set issue that caused Chinese characters (which make up a sizable portion of Unicode) to be displayed.
The only other possibility is that someone else synced actual Chinese-language papers to your library (say, from a public computer you used), but that seems farfetched if you can't find them anymore.
