Word 2007: citations inside of textframes of boxes

Hi

it seems like currently it is not possible to enter citations within floating objects, e.g. textframes, pictures etc.

I wonder if there is a workaround for this.

Thanks
Florian
  • not really, no. If you just want the text of the citation, you can use quick copy to get it from Zotero directly:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/creating_bibliographies#quick_copy
but obviously that won't link the citation to Zotero in any way, so if that's the only time it comes up it wouldn't be in the bibliography + this will also not work for numbered references as in Vancouver style.
  • ok, thanks
this is what I am doing currently. Running at the end through the document and copy it manually.

Maybe some feature for the future ;)
  • I don't think there is much to be done about this - the limitation is how Word handles those objects.
If you're authoring something that includes actual layout for print, don't use Word ;-)
(as I figure you know, journals require tables and figures to be submitted separately anyway, so for publications this isn't a concern).
