Special Characters in Notes

I need to enter special characters [usually monetary symbols] in Zotero Notes and cannot figure out how to do that. I really did read the documentation and either I need new glasses and missed it entirely or the instructions are not there. Would appreciate any guidance.

    You can't select a character from a list if that's what you mean. But zotero notes can take any utf-8 character, so you can copy&paste it from any other application or from the web or you can use keycodes to type it - for currency symbols, e.g., see here:

    None of this is particular to Zotero - I don't know of any application except a word processor that has character maps.
