Style Request: International Microbiology
I would like to request International Microbiology style which is currently unavailable. This is a Springer journal, but none of the current Springer styles are identical.
The Acta Neurochirurgica comes close, but has the following differences:
1) journal names are abbreviated
2) journal issue numbers are not included
3) there is a space after the colon following the journal volume number
Here are example references:
1. Carr NG, Mann NH (1994) The oceanic cyanobacterial picoplankton. In: Bryant DA (ed) The molecular biology of cyanobacteria. Kluwer, Dordrecht, pp 27–48
2. Madigan MT, Martinko JM, Parker J (1997) Brock biology of microorganisms. Prentice Hall, Upper Saddle River
3. Margulis L, Jorgensen JZ, Dolan S, Kolchinsky R, Rainey FA, Lo S-C (1998) The Arthromitus stage of Bacillus cereus: intestinal symbionts of animals. Proc Natl Acad Sci USA 95: 1236–1241
Here is a link to the instructions for authors:

Thanks for your help with this--let me know if you need any additional information.

This is an old discussion that has not been active in a long time. Before commenting here, you should strongly consider starting a new discussion instead. If you think the content of this discussion is still relevant, you can link to it from your new discussion.
1. is already the case when something is in the journal abbr. field in Zotero
2. I'll fix
3. Is actually not the case for International Microbiology if you look at published articles - this is wrong in the online instructions (they're frequently wrong).
I had also looked at Springer Vancouver, but this style numbers the references in the order they in the text rather than by the authors' last name in alphabetical order. It's harder for me to correct around this than the other since the numbering is correct. I'll make the other changes as you suggested.
Thanks again!
Any problems let us know.
