first reference in document is ibid.
Hello all,
I have having referencing issues again.
The first time that I insert a reference (X) in a footnote comes up as ibid.
and the inserting the same reference (X) in the next footnote it comes up as Author, "Title of the Book."
If I insert this same reference (X) in the very first footnote, the cursor then jumps to another footnote and wants to chance another reference (Y).
I have been having this problem for some time now. Please help! Thanks!!

Should the second reference in the same text be Author, "book title."?
or should it be Ibid.?
Chicago style.
If the first reference has a locator (a pinpoint) and the second reference does not, the subsequent form (Author, "book title" in Chicago) will be used.
If the references are in different notes, ibid will not be used in the following note if its predecessor contains more than one reference.
Otherwise, the second reference should appear as ibid.
