No reference type for conference proceedings?

https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1074 was closed 4 years ago "until the next time we revise our types". Have they been since revised? A match to bibtex types would be nice, and the current implementation of importing conference proceedings as books just feels wrong.

Would it be a big change to introduce the conference reference type mentioned in the bug report?

There's a "Conference Paper" type but you want to cite the conference proceedings as a whole?

Here is another case where the the search field at the upper right of the page is a shiny object. Is there a reason for not just eliminating the Google search field until the form field can instead point to the "real" forum search? Is this just a matter of time needed to make the changes? It appears that this could be accomplished by cutting code from the page linked to from the left menu column and pasting it where the Google search box is. (I admit that I have only looked briefly at the source for both.) I'm willing to make an attempt at a draft of the new pages if that would be helpful.
