googlechrome

I complained that I could not get google chrome to work.
A misreading/understanding on my part!
Load the stand alone version of Zotero; then load the google chrome plugin.

problem solved. (at least for me!)
  • Cannot find 'connector download' for v 4, which I have just down loaded. All functionality is gone!

    Anybody PLEASE!!!!
  • There are links to all connectors at http://www.zotero.org/download/
  • (though there has not been a Connector update for Zotero 4 - the old version should - and does for me - work fine)
  • Thanks for the replies.

    http://www.zotero.org/download/ takes me to https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/zotero-connector/ekhagklcjbdpajgpjgmbionohlpdbjgc

which has a green tag with: added to Chrome.
Nothing else that I can find.

Can you please give me the exact location of the earlier connector?
I have spent hours, googled, seems I am on a revolving reference ... answers all around, but not on the simple: download connector for chrome here!!!!

    thanks again. peter
  • What earlier connector? That's the connector. You just need to install it.

If you're having some other problem, you'll need to provide more details.

For reference, I'll include your comment from the other thread:
I have just installed the version 4.

Nothing works! NO control/alt z cannot find a 'connector download' for google chrome ....

lots of info, the simple basic: where the hell do I find it!' is missing.

Seriously thinking of quitting, as to damned difficult!
  • Dan, thanks.

That is the connector that I cannot find.

Had a major computer crash, so in reloading it I installed Zotero 4. Though I civcked oin the 'Chrome' button before reload, it appears that I still need the 'connector'.

Anyway, Zotero isn't working. Version 3 used to.

trust that this gives you enough info. I can get details of every step, but it ought not be this difficult!

    Thanks, peter
  • It's very simple. You install Zotero Standalone from http://www.zotero.org/download/ and you click the Chrome button right underneath, which, as you say, takes you to https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/zotero-connector/ekhagklcjbdpajgpjgmbionohlpdbjgc If that pages reports that Zotero connector has already been added to Google Chrome, then you have already installed it. In which case,
Anyway, Zotero isn't working. Version 3 used to.
does not give us any idea of what exactly is not working.

Sounds like you think that Zotero for Google Chrome functions the same as Zotero for Firefox. There is no Zotero pane embedded in Google Chrome
  • (to be clear, my point about the "old" connector was - since I had no idea that you were re-installing - that the connector hasn't change for Zotero 4.0 - the 3.0.8.1 version of the connector has been the same since July 2012, i.e. before your first post here.)
