Parent or child?

Hello,

I am a bit confused about the structure of having a parent object and a child object. Both can have tags and related assigned to as well as have notes attached to.

So, where is the exact difference? Should I assign for example tags to the child or the parent object?

I think that most users add notes, related items and tags to the parent object. But in some cases, it might be of interest to tag/note/relate the child item (which is either a note or an attachment).

In the middle pane, when the "+" column is displayed, you can see at a glance which parent item has children. There is no easy way to see which child item is itself tagged/related/commented.
