Firefox always crashes when finishing the Zotero conflict resolution pane

Dear all,

I encounter a problem with Zotero. I have made some changes to ten entries and apparently Zotero could not perfectly sync my changes to the server. Zotero went into the conflict resolution pane. After finishing all conflicts, Firefox always crashes. There is no way that I can finish the conflict resolution, because Zotero always ends up in the conflict resolution loop.

  • Since this bug seems to involve both, Firefox and Zotero, I also created a Mozilla bug entry:
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=797709

@Dan: Do you see any (interim) solution or work-around?
  • Today, Firefox 16 was released for Ubuntu and I am happy to tell you that it solved the problem. There was no crash and the conflict resolution could finish. Thanks!

    This issue is solved.
  • Hi,
i have *exactly* this problem on Zotero standalone in Ubuntu, and it has not been corrected by any update. Any suggestions?
  • perezxolote: Provide crash reports, as above.
  • Thanks for the diligent answer. I would be glad to, but there is no adress bar in Zotero Standalone so: could you tell me how to get those reports?
    best,
    Adrián

Oh, sorry, missed that this was Standalone. Since this was a Mozilla crash, you'll need to wait for the next Zotero release, which will include the latest Mozilla code. 3.0.9 will be out within the next couple weeks.
  • Ok, thanks. I guess I can live with that. For other people having this issue, found following workaround: resolve sync-conflicts in Zotero-Firefox (of course loading the same Zotero-database with equivalent Zotero-version in Firefox). As far as you don't get a new conflict, you can continue your work in the standalone version.
