Paragraphs in Summary Entry

Hi,

I would like to know if/how I can create an abstract that contains several paragraphs. I'm sorry if that questions popped up already, but I couldn't find it in the forums.

Thank you very much in advance,

Fabs

Best I guess is to give an example. As the summary of a book I wrote the following (let's say in notepad):

_
"Sputnik was also scientifically valuable. The density [..] of its radio signals gave information about the ionosphere.

Sputnik 1 was launched during the International Geophysical Year from Site No.1/5"
_

Now if I enter it in zotero’s abstract field and create a report of the entry it will appear without the paragraph. (If I copy it from there to a note however, one can clearly see, that the information is saved somewhere, as there the paragraph is shown normally again).

So the problematic report function used with the abstract field would return:
_
"Sputnik was also scientifically valuable. The density [..] of its radio signals gave information about the ionosphere. Sputnik 1 was launched during the International Geophysical Year from Site No.1/5"
_
  • I'm a bit confused by your question.
You would like to get the abstract field in a report generated by zotero? That should be the case.
You'd like to to get the abstract field in a citation generated by zotero? You might have to modify the style you're using.
  • I think s/he wants paragraphs (i.e. hard returns) in the abstract to be reproduced in the citation - afaik that can't be done currently, but I'm not 100% sure. I believe they are maintained in reports.

In reports, they are not maintained, even with <p> tags.
  • I want the paragraphs in abstracts produced by reports, exactly. Thanks for the quick answer!
Should I write it as a feature request then?
