Standalone for Mac (10.7.4) Extension Trouble

Luddite young grad student having difficulties here. I installed Zotero standalone, but could not finish installing the zotero open office/libreoffice/neooffice because it kept telling me there was an error.
Furthermore, it says Microsoft Word for Mac 2004 and later was successfully installed but I tried importing information from a document made in Word from Microsoft Office 2011 and it said it was not in a compatible format!

Help please!

    Looks like broken Java in NeoOffice. Make sure you have the latest version of NeoOffice and that you've installed any Java updates that appear in the Software Update system preference. (If that doesn't help, follow the manual installation instructions here to get a more informative error message.)
