Zotero and patents citation problem

Hello

I have problem with exporting citation of patents from Zotero to BibTex file and also to clipboard and word processor like OpenOffice, Microsoft Word. I use Zotero 3.0.8 standalone version.

Patents information from www.patentlens.net in RIS file format are exported to Zotero without problems. When I want to make bibliography file *.bib then Zotero doesn't export data with proper formating like in this example: http://www.see-out.com/sandramau/bibpat.html

Try to import to Zotero this one:
http://www.patentlens.net/patentlens/patents.html?patnums=US_6991165&language=en&query=laser&stemming=true&returnTo=quick.html%3Fquery%3Dlaser%26stemming%3Dtrue%26collections%3DUS_B%26language%3Den%26pageLength%3D10

and export in BibTex format to *.bib file. It begins with @misc instead of @patent. There is also lack of "type", "number" and some others field.

When I try export information to Word there is lack of "Patent" text and patent number in citation.
  • You can find a version of the bibtex translator that should handle this decently well in one for my posts here:
    http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/21282/2/what-is-the-status-of-zotero-handling-patent-references/
including instructions on how to get it into Zotero.

I'll try to get this into the main Zotero translator eventually, but because bibtex isn't really a single standard deciding what exactly to do wita bit more tricky (note e.g. that the "standard bibtex" on the page you link to uses @misc and not @patent - I agree @patent is probably better, but you understand why this is a bit difficult).
