Show tags of Subcollections without recursive collections

I have a feeling this only works with recrusive collections, but I don't want the items of subcollections to show in the parent collections. However, I want the tags to still represent all the items in subcollections.

Thus, if I'm in a parent folder, I may only see three items, but tags from the 30 items in collections below. This would help me know which collections to dig deeper into, without having to see items in all descendant collections.
