Attaching Files to Group Library

I see that private and closed groups have storage capability. Is this restricted to links or is there some way to attach "hard copies"(pdf etc) that can then be accessible by the group? As of this point the Standalone will not let me attach files to entries in a group library

    files can be attached and shared in closed private groups if the group settings (to be set online by the group owner) allow it.
