Wrong PDF application in Zotero Standalone

Hi guys,

I'm having a little trouble with Zotero.

My System:
I'm Running Zotero Standalone 3.0.8, in Debian linux.

The problem:
When I 'View PDF', Zotero opens Mendeley Desktop. My desktop's standard PDF application is set to Zathura.

Is there a way to reconfigure the standard viewer that Zotero Stanalone uses?

Thanks!

Max
  • See File Handling Issues.

(Zotero certainly isn't launching Mendeley itself.)
  • Thanks Dan! I solved the problem with that info.

The solution was to add the line: application/pdf=zathura.desktop
    to my ~/.local/share/applications/defaults.list file.
  • And yes, I'm sure Zotero would never intentionally launch Mendeley ;)

The odd aspect is that I've looked at all my defaults.list files and found no mention of mendeley.

I'm guessing that Mendeley associated itself with PDFs in some way or another, but I couldn't tell you where. I suspect the list of relevant files on that page isn't exhaustive. That's the beauty of Linux!

Edit: Oh, actually, that page lists only one file. I think that tip originated from a thread on some Linux forum that listed, if I recall, 3 or 4 different possible files that could influence this.
