Trouble getting a colleague registered

As a librarian, I promote Zotero to my colleagues and often help them get started. Today, I was working with someone who couldn't get registered because neither of us could decipher the characters in the second word that has to be entered on the registration screen, after one enters one's email, username and password. We tried multiple times and of course the problem just kept getting worse. A third person tried to help us and didn't do any better.

All of us wear bifocals, which may contribute to the problem. The sound recording is even worse. Can someone help us out? Of course he can use Zotero on one machine, but he can't sync. This was not a good introduction! Thanks, Elisabeth
  • Just keep trying until you get one, or hit refresh until you get an easier one. Either way, it shouldn't take more than a few tries, and nothing bad happens if you get one wrong. This is Google's reCaptcha service, which is used by most websites, so millions of users a day are in the same boat until there's a good alternative.

(Dropping the CAPTCHA altogether is also a possibility, but we'd need some additional anti-spambot measures first.)
