Can't restore the duplicate collection after accidentally deleting it

After installing zotero standalone and the Safari plugin on my MacOS 10.7.4. , I started importing data. As I wasn't quite satisfied, I deleted several of the imported collections and accidentally deleted the "duplicates" collection. All my efforts to completely remove or uninstall zotero failed, when I reinstall I always get the list of collections with "duplicates" missing. How can I restore it?
  • http://www.zotero.org/support/duplicate_detection:
right-clicking the library [i.e. "My library"] in the left column and selecting “Show Duplicates” will show the items Zotero thinks are duplicates in the center column.
  • Thanx - that was a quick fix! Sorry for not having found it on my own –believe me, I did try! And I'd still like to know how to reset or uninstall Zotero, just in case. The default locations for Zotero data given on http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data do not exist on my machine. Also when I try this:
"The easiest and most reliable way to find your Zotero data directory is by clicking the “Show Data Directory” button in the Advanced tab of your Zotero Preferences window."
I get the information that it is in my Firefox profile. But I do not even have Firefox installed! So where can the secret place where all the Zotero preferences and settings are stored be in my case?
  • "I get the information that it is in my Firefox profile"
could you explain that? You get a message saying that? This really should just result in a folder opening.
  • Excellent, got it. I was misled by the fact that the radio button next to "use the Firefox profile folder" (not sure about the exact wording in English as I am using the German version) was selected and did not realise the button "show data directory" refers to both options, not just to the one just above it ("custom folder", my translation). And of course the folder is not in the Firefox profile, but in the Zotero profile in Application support - maybe this could be mended by just naming the option "use the Firefox/ Zotero profile folder" in a later version. Thanks again for the prompt help for an obvious Zotero newbie!

good call, that should definitely be done.

edit: fixed by Simon for the next version.
