ProQuest Dissertation & Theses - all data are missing except the title name

I am sure I am using the most updated Zotero (3.0.8). When I save to Zotero from ProQuest Dissertation & Theses, all data such as Type, Authors and Abstract are missing. The only information I could get by "save to Zotero" are the title name.

All General/Preference items are checked. Please help! Thanks!
  • are you using the icon in the URL bar?
I'm not sure what you mean by "save to Zotero" - I believe the only time that comes up is when you're saving a pdf.
If you're using the icon in the URL bar we'd like a URL - proquest provides stable URLs ("permalinks") for its items, that's what we need.
  • Yes, I was using the icon in the URL bar on Firefox (v. 13.01).
Here is the URL. You will need an account to access the article.
    http://0-search.proquest.com.aupac.lib.athabascau.ca/pqdtft/docview/304835862/1383D735C9D2EF76639/1?accountid=8408

I would like to attach a screen cut for your reference but I don't know how to do it. Thanks for your help!

("Save to Zotero" is the tooltip for the address bar icon.)

what _exactly_ does it say when you hover your mouse over the item in the URL bar?
Zotero works for that dissertation in general, I suspect it doesn't kick in because of the URL structure your university uses.
  • It said, "Save to Zotero (Embeded metadata)" when my mouse hover over the icon.

I have being using Zotero for many years. It worked well until couple weeks ago when I had a new notebook and reinstall Firefox and Zotero again.
  • this isn't a general Zotero problem - Zotero just doesn't recognize the site as proquest, because your university puts a "0-" in front of the URL. We should be able to fix this pretty quickly, I'll let you know when a fix is up.
  • Great! Thank you very much!
  • I see that Simon fixed that in Zotero, so this will be fixed in version 3.0.9 and I won't put a hack for it in the translator.
  • Okay, when will version 3.09 be ready for download?
  • that might be a while - hard to say, depends on how many other issues come up.
you can switch to the - quite stable - branch xpi:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/dev_builds#zotero_30_branch
in a couple of days and then revert to 3.0.9 once it's relseased if this issue comes up for you a lot.
  • I need it badly because I am working on my doctoral dessertation proposal. I have downloaded the branch xip. Would you please show me what to do with it in order to install the fixed features? Thanks!
