Do not lose current selection when creating new collection
Forgive me if this has been dealt with elsewhere - my searching could not find anything related.
My specific 'use case' is:
I have a selection of item(s), and I want to create a new collection for them. If I use the toolbar button, or menu item, to create a new collection, the selection is lost, and the newly created collection is instead highlighted and displayed (and being empty, there are no selections). Leads to frustration and time lost.
Improvement:
When a new collection is created from the menu or toolbar, it is done in a way that does not affect the current selection, and is displayed in the collection list, but not itself selected.
Hope this is helpful to others.

Zotero standalone, ver 3.07.
What we could do is have a context-menu option to create a new collection from the current selected items (equivalent to "New Playlist from Selection" in iTunes's File menu or "New Folder with Selection" in the OS X (Lion and up) Finder).
We could also persist item selection on a per-collection basis, though I'm not sure if that would be desirable in all cases.
Yes I think the option to create new from selection is the better idea, after all that is the reason behind my request. If you wanted to take it further, the toolbar icon could behave as a drop-down to offer that choice as well? That is, it could have 2 options:
"New empty collection"
"New collection from selection"
