enabling a citation graph & a "related" graph
I'm looking for an visual way of giving an overview of most influential research groups and projects + qualified links between them such as: "this paper A gives the results of an experiment based on the prototype described in the paper B, which is an enhanced approach of the paper C, on which the research group D has been working on". The citation/reference links (e.g. between A, B, C and D) could be qualified with annotations like "has improved scalability", "is a generalization of", "is an application of" and so on...
That way, it would be easy to see how research works and teams are related to each other, and it would be easier to write state of the art papers.
One way of doing that is to add a "references" tab in zotero in which we could add references to other resources and enter qualifiers for each of them. This could be stored as RDF triples and rendered as a graph by a third-party application for example.

bdarcusI've been involved in previous threads (such as the one Dan links to) about this issue, but just want to agree that this has the potential to be a killer feature for Zotero. Once you start to aggregate these sorts of triples, things get really interesting.
