Minor matter loading Zotero

When I load either version, the Standalone or the Firefox version, it makes no difference, and them load MSWord (2003), a small window opens in MSWord. It contains the message:

the add-in template is not valid
c:\users\...\startup\~$zotero.dot

I can delete this message, with apparently no serious effect, but clearly something is not quite right. So what do I need to do to correct this problem? I should mention that I am using the latest version of Zotero, 3.0.8 Standalone and Firefox.

    You can delete that file (but make sure you don't delete Zotero.dot). It seems like this is a temporary file created by Word that's supposed to be deleted when Word is closed, but might not have if Word crashed.

    Hi, just adding to the above for anyone else reading this.

    I had the same error, and had a little trouble locating the file.

    I followed the instructions in Workaround, Step 4, here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/838675

    But their instructions weren't completely accurate as the address for the file they mention (in Windows 7) left out the 'Roaming' part. I found the ~$zotero.dot here:

    C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP
