Italics in Title Field

I have an article title that contains italicized words, but I cannot see how I can italicize words in the title field. Is there a way, or is the only option for me to enter that citation manually in my document?

See http://citationstyles.org/downloads/upgrade-notes.html#rich-text-markup-within-fields (you have to enclose the words that should be in italics within <i> and </i> tags).
