Upgrade StorageCustomizing the timeline...

I'm interested to learn how I might be able to go about customizing the timeline that Zotero produces. Specifically, I'm interested in adding to the timeline items the author's name, an abstract in a little bubble that the timeline widget supports, and ideally I'd like only some results there (filtered by tag).
I see that the URL is used to pull data into the Timeline SIMILE widget (zotero://timeline/data/library), when I checkout the contents of that URL I find the data is already a list of events with just item titles.
I recognise my best bet will probably to use a local copy of the SIMILE timeline widget, and load data in manually.
Is there anyway to customize that URL to add in author name to the event title?
Or is there a different URL I can use?

I love both Zotero and Timeline but it's a pity that Timeline is an abandoned project for years. It would be very nice to fork and carry it into the Zotero system. You can count me as a volunteer.
