Copy Paste between word files

When working on different word files (word 2007) and trying to copy past a section between files the references don't update. The citations seem to still be fields but the bibliography doesnt integrate them.

Hi,

I have two word files with text and zotero inserted references. I want to copy paste a section from one file to the other. When i do this the references are still "field?" (greyed) but they wont update the bibliography.

Do i need to reinsert biblio?

Ill try to pree refresh when i get to work later today. thanks

I tried this, and it worked fine for me. Phew. (Word 2011 for Mac; Zotero standalone 3.0.11.1).

I have just encountered the same problem, but refreshing does not solve my own problem!!!

You need to select a citation style first in the target doc, either by using Set Document Preferences or by inserting any random citation.

(@adomasven, perhaps it would make sense for Zotero to pop up the Document Preferences window if a user presses the refresh button in an uninitialized Word document? Seems like that would take care of this issue)
