Request for corrections to Water Research style

The Water Research style (I am using the most current one, updated 3 April 2012) could use the following changes:

1) Should not include initials within parenthetical citations (last names only)
2) Within parenthetical citations, 1st author with 'et al.' (not all authors), or both authors if a 2-author paper
3) Remove parentheses around year in bibliography
4) Should not italicize book titles in bibliography (it appears Water Research does not use boldface or italics anywhere in the bibliography, except italics for genus & species names)

Thank you for your help!
  • Does this style fit the journal requirements?

  • Thank you, noksagt - Elsevier's Harvard Style (with titles) (EHSWT) is much closer, but not quite right (I just now updated to the most recent version of EHSWT). I have noticed these differences between EHSWT and Water Research's requirements:

    1) EHSWT abbreviates journal titles in the bibliography, but Water Research does not.
    2) EHSWT does not include the issue number in parentheses after the volume number, but Water Research does.

adamsmith, thank you for the reminder about name disambiguation - furthermore, it appears that EHSWT does not disambiguate, but the current Water Research style does.
  • OK, I'll take a look, but won't be immediate.
  • it's up now. Should be correct afaict.
  • Many thanks, adamsmith! It looks great. I just resubmitted a paper to Water Research using it.
