Libreoffice plugin: change parenthesization of citations

I typically work with Harvard-style referencing when using Zotero with LibreOffice. I frequently find that I want to change the formatting of my citations from the default of (Author et al., 2001) to Author et al. (2001). I presently use the citation editor to manually move parentheses around but this breaks the link to the reference database.

Is there a way of changing maintaining the links between citations and the Zotero reference database when working with LibreOffice? FYI I'm using the 'Bookmarks' refernence.

It'd be nice if the LibreOffice plugin had a citation style drop-down like that in LyX where one can choose between the following formatting options:

Author et al. (year)
(Author et al., year)
Author et al., year
Author et al. year
Author et al.
year
(year)

This has been discussed quite a bit. Search of the forums for "suppress author" will turn up most of them (and the current solution, which is to use the "Suppress Author" tick-box in the word processor plugin, and enter the author name by hand).

It's a tough problem to solve from a technical standpoint, but the demand is well known. It will happen when the ground is ready, but not soon.
