Upgrade StorageImporting and using semantic annotations for different content types
Hi: I've been looking into semantic annotation systems, like SALT (Semantic Annotation for Latex). I'm particularly interested in how annotations can create references between diverse content types, like 3d models, computer source code, and text articles, for example. (Let's say I want to write an article about some simulation using 3d, and generate a 2d picture from a 3d scene given a certain camera and want to insert the picture into a Latex document, say...) It is pretty easy to add semantic annotations to content which is exposed as text files (Latex, OpenSCAD, Octave, source code, XML, etc.). Is this the kind of extraction which would be performed by a translator? I am not describing situations where citations would be grabbed from a list of resources, but where some smaller part of one resource can be identified in isolation, perhaps from text files on a computer rather than online, but later synchronized with other files in a Zotero library. SALT allows interrelationships to be established between different documents in a library to be semantically annotated, and I wonder if Zotero has a similar feature, or if, say, a translator would be the proper way of providing code to allow Zotero users to extract SALT annotations from files, for example. Incidentally, I have done searches for e.g. "Zotero and SALT", "Zotero and Rhetorical Structure Theory (RST)", etc., and found interesting articles hosted ON Zotero but little commentary on how the ideas in those articles might be incorporated as Zotero features. Like, say, are there Zotero tools to represent RST relations between documents? Thanks for any feedback.
