Web page citation- how to show date accessed and in UK format

Using Mac Word 11 and standalone. Full note and bibliography Chicago. Can you tell me how to make a webpage citation to show date accessed and in UK format.

Can you tell me how to stop it date showing as n.d.
  • date formats aren't localized but style dependent - since CMoS is a US style it uses US style dates. You could see if MHRA, which is quite similar, uses UK formate.
If the style puts n.d. the item is lacking a date - accessed date isn't the same as a regular date - for webpages just scraped via "Create New Item..." you'll mostly have to input those manually.

date formats aren't localized but style dependent
@adamsmith, while this accurately the current state of the styles in the style repository, CSL 1.0 does support localizing date formats (to an extent).
  • Regarding dates, I did not make myself clear: I was referring to 2 different things
    1. webpage and date accessed - all data is in Zotero but date accessed does not appear in citation, which I'm required to do
    2. Separate date entry for webpage and other citations - is there a way to stop it appearing in citation as n.d. when I do not put a date in?

I'm meant to use Chicago referencing style, is that CMoS? What is CSL?
    If I put
  • I've now tried MHRA which does date accessed - just what I want and it gets rid of the n.d. problem too.
However, rather than create repeat citation with Ibid. it repeats authors last name - is there a way around this?
  • @watermeadows, I don't suppose you figured out how to get Ibid. to work? Sorry to resurrect an older thread...

better to start a new thread for problems that aren't related to an old-thread's title (which is about the format of accessed dates).
  • Quite right, apologies!
