import from Mendeley

I know that I can import documents from Zotero to Mendely (PDF organiser), does anyone know whether I can do the opposite, import documents from Mendeley to Zotero?
Thanks!!
  • You probably need to export to file using Mendeley and then impory using Zotero. I have not really used Mendeley, so do not know how exporting works there.

    There is no direct database level import, like there is from Zotero to Mendeley.
  • I think the best way to do this currently is BibTex export from Mendeley - not sure if they support any other rich formats - Bibliontology RDF would be ideal.
  • I made a try exporting a few references from Mendeley as BibTex file
    I could successfully import these references into zotero for linux, but I failed to import same file into zotero for mac...
  • as in - you received an import error? My guess would be that's because of the file paths - if there is a file link included in the bibtex, Zotero expects that path to be valid (we should probably look at relaxing that, but that's the status quo).
