URL not active in Report, if URL is only a domain site

My note regards the report generated by Zotero and the URL links embedded for each item. If the URL address is extended over the main domain name, then it is linkified properly (see the next example of the source code)

<th>URL</th>
<td><a href="http://www.astm.org/index.html">http://www.astm.org/index.html</a></td>;

But if the URL address is only the domain name, the link is not linkified at all (see below)

<th>URL</th>
<td>http://www.astm.org</td>;

The two URLs below each other for comparison:
http://www.astm.org/index.html
http://www.astm.org
and
http://www.astm.org/ (not active either)

Did I overlooked anything, please? Shouldn't be all URL addresses active?

May the developers consider this behaviour to be fixed, please?
