deleting items

Hi,
Sorry if this sounds stupid but... how can I delete a card I don't want to have in my library anymore?! I did find how to get rid of some of the info but not of the entire card.

    Select an item and press 'delete' or right click and select delete item.

    From the Zotero documentation pages (http://www.zotero.org/documentation/organizing_your_library):

    To delete an item, select it and hit the Backspace or Delete key, or right-click (control click on Mac) and select “Delete Selected Item From Library...” If you delete a record from one of your folders, the record will remain in “My Library.” To delete a record completely, select it from “My Library” before deleting it or right-click the item in a collection and select “Delete Selected Item from Library.”

    I have one item that won't be deleted from the My Library. I have tried all of the steps above, installed the newest version of zotero, and quited and restarted Firefox.
