Display readable summary with abstract into browser window when the citation is double clicked
My current workflow includes PubMed searches, saving the citations that I am interested in with the an automatic snapshot of the PubMed page, and then manually adding the PDF to the record.
It is convenient to have the PubMed snapshot for the readable abstract, but, with images and everything, it takes about 300KB of disk space. Multiply it by a 1000 citations and it becomes 300MB.
I would avoid saving the PubMed snapshot if the citation abstract was more readable. In the info tab, the abstract is very poorly accessible (it shows only one line, that becomes a very small textbox when clicked).
A solution would be to generate on the fly an HTML version of the citation, with a very readable abstract, that would be displayed in the firefox window when the citation is double clicked.
Since a PubMed citation also stores the PMID, this page could also contain a link to the article on PubMed.
Does it sound like a feature that users would appreciate?
Thanks for the great work.
