3.0.3 SA/Chicage (note) capitalises “Ibid.” after “Cf.” (but not after “See”)

I just found that Zotero 3.0.3, again, capitalises ibidems after “Cf.”, e.g., the following just happened to me:

71. Bestor follows Lee. See “Plato’s Semantics and Plato’s ‘Parmenides’,” sec. 8.
72. Cf. Ibid.

Interestingly, the problem occurs only for ”Cf.,” but not for “See,” so maybe the dot is the problem; e.g., the following works just fine:

71. Bestor follows Lee. See “Plato’s Semantics and Plato’s ‘Parmenides’,” sec. 8.
72. See ibid.

Thanks for looking into this.

Yep, that would be due to the period, which the processor sees as a full stop ending a sentence. We're coming up against the rule that you can't please all of the use cases all of the time here. We may be able to cover this with a heuristic, but this is getting close to final-edit territory.
  • I see your point; though this would seem to be quite common a case, but it’s, admittedly, also something that a simple “search and replace” can deal with. Thanks for clarifying this (I didn’t expect Zotero to be that clever).
