American Journal of Preventive Medicine

Hello!
I'm submitting a paper to the American Jounal of Preventive Medicine (AJPM). I can't find a citation style specific to this journal. It is a Vancouver style (similar to the one used in The Lancet [http://www.zotero.org/styles/lancet]), but and all plain text (no bold, no italics).
The style "Vancouver with superscript" [http://www.zotero.org/styles/vancouver-superscript] cites journal articles as web pages ("...[Internet]...[Date accessed:]...").

Here's an example of the citation style used in a recent AJPM article:
28. Haas AP, Eliason M, Mays VM, et al. Suicide and suicide risk in lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender populations: review and recommendations. J Homosex 2010;58(1):10 –51.

Thanks for your help!
Roland
  • Vancouver shouldn't do that - have you actually tried this or just looked at the preview? I believe the preview does something funny with articles that have URLs.
  • Hi!

    Wow, that was quick!

I'm using Mendeley with the Microsoft Office Word plugin.

Here's what I see in the bibliography:
    1. Patel MR, Mahaffey KW, Garg J, Pan G, Singer DE, Hacke W, et al. Rivaroxaban versus warfarin in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation. NEJM [Internet]. 2011 [cited 2011 Oct 8];365(10):883–91. Available from: http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa1009638

    It sould be:
    1. Patel MR, Mahaffey KW, Garg J, et al. Rivaroxaban versus warfarin in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation. NEJM 2011;365:883–91.

    Thanks again for your help!

  • Vancouver with superscript should and does produce this in Zotero:
(that's with the data from Pubmed as is)

    1. Patel MR, Mahaffey KW, Garg J, Pan G, Singer DE, Hacke W, et al. Rivaroxaban versus warfarin in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation. N. Engl. J. Med. 2011 Sep 8;365(10):883–91.

If it doesn't that's a Mendeley issue, ask their support or switch to a superior product ;-).

It looks like there are some additional issues - number of authors before et al, for example. For that see here:
