capture icon missing from URL line

A re-install seemed to have fixed my problem - unfortunately that only worked for a day. The capture icon has again disappeared from the address bar. I have followed all of the instructions provided at http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/no_address_bar_icon to no effect. Desperately needing help!

sample URL? Can you create an error report? Also, what version of Zotero, what browser.
  • I am using Zotero version 3.0.2. Firefox version 10.0.1 - when I think about it, it was when firefox updated yesterday that the previous re-install ceased working.

I have just generated an error report - Report I.D. 588035326
  • Sorry Adam - forgot the URL. In the interim, I uninstalled Google Chrome; and when I went to get a sample URL (http://0-www.jstor.org.prospero.murdoch.edu.au/stable/i25610143), discovered that the capture icon has now reappeared. Perhaps there was a clash of some sort within my system between Zotero and Chrome? If that is the case I am more than happy to forego Chrome - much prefer to have Zotero!
  • highly unlikely this was a conflict with Chrome if it didn't work in Firefox. In Chrome you would have needed a separate connector for Zotero.
  • I had never actually tried to use Zotero in Chrome - but noticed when I was generating the error report that there was comment concerning Chrome which is why I decided to uninstall it.
  • that's, confusingly enough, an entirely different chrome - chrome is a protocol used internally in Firefox (among other things by Zotero). It has nothing to do with the browser of the same name - you'll still get errors with chrome:// now that you have Chrome uninstalled.
  • OK - obviously way out of my depth! Thanks for the 'heads up.'
