Installing my Zotero Library into a computer recently upgraded to windows 7

Hi, My university have upgraded my office computer to windows 7 and I have reinstalled the latest version of Zotero. I have my zotero library saved on an external drive and have tried to copy it back into the firefox extensions folder as I would do on windows XP SP3 for example. The library doesn't appear in the newly installed version of Zotero. I've tried putting it into a folder marked 064pfp5m.default which already contains a copy of Zotero (which may have been carried over when the upgrade was done. I think that this might a folder stored on the University's main server as it is located under the heading My Profile).
I've also tried putting it into another firefox folder that I found listed under the C: Drive of the operating system of the machine itself. Having just checked again on a remote connection to the office computer the zotero library does not now appear to be there. If I try it again, where should the library file go? into default? into extensions? just into the list of program files under firefox?
I'm not that computer savvy beyond moving files about so simple advice would be appreciated. Also, I do have admin rights to the university computer.
Thanks for any help
Martin
