Duplication Issue? Duplicate Info with Different Attachments

I can use help with a problem.

When I download articles from EBSCO or ProQuest, I can successfully download all of the cite and .pdf files from the search. However, when I go into my Zotero pane to find the articles, about 10% of my captured articles have duplicate info. This is troubling as the info is duplicate but the .pdfs are different for the identical info captures. I have been manually changing the info on some of the duplicates to reflect the correct document but retyping the abstracts is quite a pain.

Any recommendations?
  • we need specific examples, i.e. permalinks from EBSCO or ProQuest or relevant searches&databases
  • Adam, thank you.

I did an EBSCO Host search for the Journal of Business Logistics from years 2010 through 2011. Of the 65 results captured (in 50 citation intervals), 61 were collected correctly while four had incorrect article information.

I do not have a permalink available as a proxy is needed to get into the search. Sorry.

Interestingly, I did this in Google Scholar with 50 results twice and did not have any duplication issues.
  • EBSCO provides permalinks as part of the item display. It'd be helpful to know which items were duplicates.
  • hi, I have seen the same duplication issue with ebsco business source premier for example when saving citations from a search like:

    http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&AuthType=ip,shib&db=buh&bquery=(JN+%22Academy+of+Management+Review%22)+AND+(inertia)&type=1&site=ehost-live

I have noticed that it seems to be the second item in the search is caputured with the correct pdf but with the first items citation details
  • I'd be curious if these errors are still around for you. I couldn't replicate them with the current translator/EBSCO site.
