Editing Automatic Form Fill Info

I have automatic form fill info that is not accurate and would like to edit it. How do I access them to do this?
  • what do you mean by form fill? Zotero doesn't have a form fill function.
  • If you mean autocompletion of item metadata in the right-hand column, that is populated based on the data in your library.
  • I'm speaking of the automatic form fill such as publisher, etc. When you begin to type, entries previously made that match what you have typed appear in a list from which you can choose. If it is, indeed, in the library, where is that found?
  • In one of your items - you can search for it. You may want to empty your Zotero trash first (bottom of the left pane).
  • Sorry - What is an item? I'm using a Mac platform. Thanks.
  • Items are the individual references in Zotero. If Zotero suggests an auto-complete (e.g. for a publisher field) to you, that publisher exists in one of your other Zotero references/items. Search for it, find it, and correct it.

Yes, but not convenient because I have about 50 items with this publisher. In any case, that doesn't work; the correct version is just added to the incorrect ones. I want to get rid of the incorrect ones so that I don't choose them inadvertently. I can't go to the database that supplies that info & correct or delete info?
  • again: That database is made up of what's in the publisher field of your Zotero items. You can change it in the database by correcting it in the publisher field(s). If the incorrect publisher is in multiple items, yes, you'll need to fix them individual.
(that is, unless you know your way around javascript a bit - in that case, see here: http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/client_coding/javascript_api )
  • OK, thanks.
