3.0rc1.1 SA “eats” sections in journal articles

I’m accustomed to Zotero ignoring sections in some item types, most notably journal articles (where “ignoring” means that when one selects “section” for one of these types the ”sec. ” is omitted in the citation that Zotero generates, so that the section number appears as if it were a page number).

My usual work around was, using a Chicago style, to simple select “page” and enter ”sec. ” manually. 3.0rc1.1 SA, however, blocks this workaround. Whenever I enter ”sec.” 3.0rc1.1 SA, apparently, “detects” that I’m entering a section number, not a page number and switches to ”section” automatically.

So I’m left with manually editing each citation in which I refer to a section of a paper. Please fix this.

This bit of nannyism was my doing, in the citation processor. It's meant for support of plain text authoring systems which (unlike Zotero) don't have a UI for the pinpoint labels. It hadn't occurred to me that styles might gobble the locator.

The feature can be turned off in the processor, and the core devs might decide to do so before release. It's really a style issue, though: if you have a use for the locator labels, the style should provide them.

Here are "fixed" versions of the various members of the Chicago family. If you could quickly take each through a few cites such as you require and confirm that they work correctly, it would be a great help.

Thanks a lot for the quick help. Unfortunately, I’m pressed on time right now, so I couldn’t really test them extensively, but from what I see, all styles appear to work as they should, except for "Chicago Fullnote with Bibliography, no ibid (upgraded syntax)," which still displays the old behaviour.
